Falmouth makes early statement with win over TA

It took just a matter of minutes Thursday evening for Falmouth's boys' lacrosse team to cement its status as state's premier team.
Hosting rival Thornton Academy, the Navigators, the reigning Class A champions, who are heavily favored to do it again, needed 37 seconds to go in front for good, 91 seconds to take a quick 3-0 lead and less than six minutes to produce a 6-0 advantage.
By the end of the first quarter, thanks in part to four goals from senior standout Joey Guerrette, the lead was 9-1. By halftime, Falmouth was rolling, 16-2, and it would cruise to a 19-7 victory, starting the season in memorable fashion.
